We are all familiar with the principle of double glazing and the theory behind its design.
The same, basic principle is employed in the design of Norsound seals. Each blade on the seal creates a “chamber” that systematically absorbs and, in turn, reduces transmitted noise.
Our independently derived test data proves that this “multiblocking” system provides far superior acoustic performances than those achieved by more conventional acoustic door seals.
This has two major benefits in terms of the acoustic and operational performance of the doorset:
1. Minimum seal configuration required to achieve the specified sound reduction index.
2. A reduction of the forces required to open and close the door.
To our knowledge, Norsound is the only acoustic door seal manufacturer to specifically utilise this design principle throughout its range.
